Tubular skylights are an energy efficient addition to your residence or business. Tubular skylights differ from regular skylights in that they provide sunlight through a mirrored tube instead of directly through a plastic bubble. The light is then emitted into the room through a diffuser. This gives you 100% of the visible light spectrum you want without a light bulb and the ability to insulate your home from the weather. Most all the harmful UV rays of the sun are filtered out as well. Another bonus effect of the tubular skylight is the UV filtering process helps protect your furniture and rugs from the sun’s bleaching effect.

Typical installation is approximately two hours. So for the cost of a high end light fixture, you can get the savings of not having a light bulb that drains energy and benefit of the soft warm light of the sun into your home. Compared to normal skylights you also get no heat build up from the sun or lamp generated heat. This gain can be magnified in a warehouse or office setting. Imagine replacing all those heat generating fluorescent lights in your office with sunlight that doesn’t add heat gain. One 18 or 21” tubular skylight can produce the equivalent of 1000 to 1400 watts of light.
